Patrick's 2nd Birthday!

On Saturday, Patrick turned two years old. We had a beautiful day to celebrate this wonderful milestone. Throughout the month we've been talking to Patrick about his birthday, and as soon as he woke up, Patrick was ready to tell everyone that he was TWO and it was time for presents. At lunch, we had one of Patrick's best friends come over to celebrate with cake and take a dip in his new pool. Patrick seemed to really enjoy the day and continued the celebration throughout the weekend.


The past six months have been an amazing time of growth and development for Patrick. Some of his newer skills include:
-identifying his letters (upper and lowercase)
-singing the ABC song
-recognizing the sound most letters make
-counting to 12 consistently (and sometimes up to 20)
-identifying the number "10"
-jumping
-throwing/kicking a ball to someone
-making jokes with names and understanding "silly" things
-sometimes chooses to SHARE without prompting
-knows the difference between whining and a "big boy" voice
-speaking in sentences with 5-7 words

Our little boy is such a blessing and brings so much joy to our lives. It's hard to remember what life was like 2+ years ago and at the same time so hard to believe that time has passed so quickly. I know the next year is going to be amazing and challenging as we welcome our little girl into our family, but I know Patrick will grow into a wonderful big brother.
