Alexandra 7 months

With all of the holiday hub-bub, I forgot to post a blog for Alex's 6 month mark, but all in all, her 7th month has been the more exciting, by far. In addition to celebrating her first Christmas, Alexandra has had some significant developmental milestones this month. Shortly after Thanksgiving, she began to sit up on her own, and shortly after that, she learned the joys of holding herself up and standing at the toy chest. However, the real excitement for her came over a three week period of learning how to crawl. Matt and I were both amazed at how much more content she seemed once she could get what she wanted. Closer to Christmas, she started babbling; one day, I noticed her popping her lips together all day (I kept reaching in her mouth to see if she was eating something), and then, later that evening, out came the ba-ba-ba's, da-da-da's, and ma-ma-ma's.
Alex also loves to splash in the tub, "clap" her hands (or blocks) together and share her pacifier with anyone in arm's reach. Patrick is learning to deal with Alex's new-found movement. He even shares toys with her now and then or will bring her a new Christmas toy to play with without us having to prompt him.
Alex no longer has a scheduled nighttime feeding and we're hoping that in this next month, she will start sleeping a consistent 10 1/2 hour stretch at night. I'll let you know next month.
